The certification examinations measure the candidate's knowledge of orthotics and prosthetics, their analytical and problem solving skills as well as clinical, patient management and communication skills.

CBCPO practitioner certification and technician registration are the designations given to those individuals who have met CBCPO's extensive education and training requirements and/or who have passed specific examinations that are based on a comprehensive practice analysis of the orthotic and prosthetic profession. The certification examinations measure the candidate's knowledge of orthotics and prosthetics, their analytical and problem solving skills as well as clinical, patient management and communication skills. The technical registration examinations promote the development of technical competency in prosthetic and orthotic fabrication. CBCPO practitioner certification and technician registration are the profession's highest standards for professionals providing patient care and technical services.
